Bule Hora University (Ethiopia) in partnership with the University of Nairobi (Kenya), University College Dublin (UCD) (Ireland), and Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia), has successfully secured seed funding for a critical research project. The initiative, titled “Gender, Land Tenure and Climate Risk in Northern Kenya and Southern Ethiopian Pastoralist Community,” aims to investigate the complex interactions of gender dynamics, land rights, and climate vulnerability within these regions.
A productive project discussion recently took place in Addis Ababa, bringing together coordinators from all participating institutions to plan the research. This funding isn't just enabling initial studies to address vital challenges faced by pastoralist communities and inform future sustainable solutions. It's also creating a magnificent opportunity to establish future collaborations with these institutions.
Bule Hora University and the University of Nairobi (Kenya) have begun collaborative efforts in Indigenous Knowledge, Cultural Studies, and Pastoralism. The Research, International Relations, and Partnership Directorate greatly appreciate Dr. Mekuria Guye, Academic Programs Director, for his essential role in connecting professors from both universities and establishing this partnership.
